LIBANPOST brings home two awards from Copenhagen

June 25, 2010 - The joy of LIBANPOST has doubled on the eve of 15 of June 2010, after the company received the awards for both categories of "innovation" and "transformation" during the awards ceremony of the "WORLD MAIL AWARDS 2010” held in the Danish capital Copenhagen.
To mark this occasion, Minister of Telecommunications Dr. Charbel Nahas announced that he is “proud of this global achievement made by LIBANPOST on the postal service’s level. This success, which was very appreciated and estimated by countries where the postal service is developed, is the fruit of 12 years of tireless work for improving and developing the postal sector in Lebanon and providing the citizens with the latest services”.
Minister Nahas added: "This presence achieved by LIBANPOST on the international postal scene, through the two awards it won, was the result of the company's efforts, perseverance and determination to raise Lebanon`s name high among developed countries. A big thank you to the company for the efforts it has been deploying and gratitude to its faithful workers".

Khalil Daoud, the chairman of the company, also thanked the big family of LIBANPOST who performed hand in hand over the years to provide a range of innovative services which have succeeded in improving the quality of postal services. He added: "We are amassing the fruits of our promising vision and our ongoing achievements by winning these two awards during the global postal awards ceremony, WORLD MAIL AWARDS 2010, which has earned us recognition and appreciation among the most prestigious international postal institutions, thanks to our continued efforts and perseverance to achieve our goals. There is no doubt that we will be receiving more awards in our mailbox. Despite the recognition provided by these awards to LIBANPOST at the global level, the absolute confidence of our clients in our high-quality services and the loyalty of our employees remain our daily major prize”.

The WORLD MAIL AWARDS ceremony is organized annually. This year, it coincides with the WORLD MAIL conference, also held in the Danish capital. This event highlights the evolution of the postal sector around the world and the diversity of its services as it calls all the countries to compete for the awards which spread over 11 categories: Corporate Social Responsibility, Customer Service, e-Commerce, Growth, Innovation, Human Resources Management, Quality of service, Retail Project, Security, Transformation, and Technology. This year has seen a strong demand, as a large number of countries applied to participate, making the task difficult for the jury to select the candidate countries that would become potential winners. As for Lebanon, it was the biggest recipient of prizes this year, and the only country to get two awards.

LIBANPOST has won the Innovation category award allocated for institutions that launch new initiatives that motivate customers to use the service on regular basis. LIBANPOST has launched a range of innovative services that serve as a liaison between the citizens and public institutions throughout its post offices and call center. LIBANPOST provides today its customers with more than seventy governmental services available through its centers.
The second award won by LIBANPOST, for the Transformation category, has been awarded to the company for its efforts in introducing a series of radical changes plan which resulted in long term sustained growth. LIBANPOST plan targeted the rehabilitation of services’ infrastructure and computerization and diversification of its services to include services such as governmental, financial and home services. This award confirms the fact that LIBANPOST reached its goal as it was able, through these changes, to go beyond traditional services and provide a wider selection of new and developed services for its customers.

This global success in the WORLD MAIL AWARDS 2010 will stimulate LIBANPOST to increase its hard work to improve the postal sector. It will be deploying more efforts to develop the postal services and introduce innovative ones. This only confirmed the vision of LIBANPOST in transforming Lebanon into a pioneer in providing the most sophisticated postal services in the Middle East.
